About

Mewt is an app that allows you to collect payments from customers and transfer money easily and quickly. You can accept payments using any UPI app, BNPL, and your Mewt business account. Additionally, you can accept merchant payments online with the Mewt for Business app.

My Role

Over two months, I led the Mewt project and executed the product design process. I collaborated with stakeholders, performed competitive analysis, conceptualized, created prototypes, conducted research and interviews, and developed use cases and workflows. This allowed me to improve the user experience of the Mewt application, which led to increased engagement and retention.

Contextual Enquiries & Desk Research

In order to gain a comprehensive understanding of the expectations of different stakeholders in the system, we conducted a thorough contextual inquiry. This inquiry provided us with valuable insights into the existing application and the challenges faced by users, which has confirmed our next step in solving the issue of customer retention and engagement.

Competitors Analysis

We focused on the business user accounts of the Mewt app and compared its user experience to that of Paytm, Google Pay, PhonePe, and Bharat Pay, as these are the most commonly used payment apps in India based on our research and inquiries.

User Journey Maps & Empathy Maps

As part of developing Mewt, the team conducted user research with small business owners who make daily payments up to 2 lakhs. This included mapping their payment journeys and creating an empathy map to better understand user needs and pain points, which informed design decisions.

UI Explorations

We presented our final visual output to Mewt by analyzing UI trends. We used the analogy of being young but mature in the world of transactions and incorporated selected features for the application.
